Because one pet year is the equivalent of 5 - 7 people years, we stress the importance of a twice yearly physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services:  Our practice is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.  We offer affordable wellness surveillance testing to detect potential problems early, as well as diagnostic testing for unwell pets.
Surgical Services:  Our surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures including spey and neuter (desexing) operations. We also engage the services of a travelling surgical specialist for unusual or complicated operations.
Anaesthesia:  We want your pet's anaesthetic experience to be as safe and pleasant as possible. To achieve this, every pet undergoing anaesthesia will have the following safety measures in place.
1) pre-anaesthetic examination.
2) pre-anaesthetic blood testing (complexity varies with the age and health status of the pet).
3)  an intravenous drip to support vital organs and blood pressure.
4) a skilled nurse monitoring vital signs right from induction of anaesthesia through to recovery.
5) modern anaesthetic monitoring equipment including blood pressure measurement, oxygen saturation, ECG and respiration.
6) pain relief,  both before and after any potentially painful procedure.
7) a warm blanket or towel for a comfortable recovery.    
Dentistry:  Our state of the art dental equipment enables us to perform a wide range of dental procedures including teeth cleaning and polishing, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery. Brown teeth cause bad breath and red gums are PAINFUL. Dental disease can damage the heart. liver and kidneys. Please phone 3865 2020 to arrange a free dental exam with one of our wonderful nurses.

Radiology: Onsite x-ray capabilities allows for a quick diagnosis of many problems.

Laboratory:  Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.
Permanent identification: We offer microchip identification.
Pharmacy:  We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets.
Individualized Flea Control Programs:  We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas in your house, in your yard and on your pet.

Dietary Counseling:  We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance. We also run Zillmere Fat Zappers, a strucutred weight loss program giving you the support you need to keep your pets trim and healthy.
Behavioural Counseling:  For puppies and kittens, we offer a complimentary "Family Fit" visit to set your new additions up for success, this can be followed by Puppy Preschool on Monday evenings or Kitten Kindy on Thursday evenings. We can also provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.

Photonic Laser Therapy:   We offer a non-invasive pain therapy treatment, that works in a similar way to accupuncture. The therapy consists of nine treatments over the course of three weeks.

Specialist consultations: We work closely with a number of veterinary specialists, and can always arrange a referral for pets needing more intensive investigation and treatments.
